Antony Says, Army Chief Named Tejinder Singh, But He Didn't Pursue The Matter, Nor Gave It In Writing

Defence Minister A K Antony today revealed in the Rajya Sabha that Army Chief Gen V K Singh had named Lt. Gen (Retd) Tejinder Singh while complaining about Rs 14 crore bribe offered to him, but he did not pursue the charge in writing.

Giving clarifications in the Rajya Sabha, Antony said, more than a year ago (September 22, 2010) the Army Chief had come to him to complain that a senior Staff General had offered him Rs 14 crore bribe.

“I asked the Army Chief to take immediate action, but at any stage he didn’t take any action, nor did he forward any complaint in writing. Till today I have not received any written complaint from him. I had even been getting anonymous complaints probed in the Defence Ministry.
