It was a story straight out of a Bollywood film. Two students studying in Class X decides to strike it rich by ringing up a hosiery businessman Rajesh Jain here and demanding Rs 50 lakh extortion.
The two used Bollywood lingo to claim that they were from Dawood Ibrahim's gang and asked Jain to pay up. A worried Jain then haggled and agreed to pay Rs 25 lakhs. He then informed Ludhiana police.
At the appointed time, the businessman took five bundles of currency notes with Rs 1,000-note on top and bottom and plain sheets in between.
As the two teenagers came and picked up the briefcase, policemen, lying in wait, nabbed both of them. They were found to be Class X students, hailing from Uttar Pradesh.
