A Punjab police constable Bhajan Singh allegedly shot a couple dead and committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train in Manakwal village in Ludhiana on Saturday night, police said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Bhajan Singh had illegitimate relations with a married woman named Bhinder Kaur.
Singh also bought a house for Kaur. But for the few days he started asking for money from Bhinder Kaur and her husband Balwinder Singh in lieu of the house that he had bought for Kaur. Both of them refused to give him money.
An enraged Bhajan Singh shot the couple and then committed suicide.
According to Sadar Police Station incharge Harvinder Singh, Bhajan Singh was deployed in Bank of India as security guard.
