Doug Bollinger and Shadab Jakati shared five wickets between them as Chennai Super Kings restricted Trinidad and Tobago to a meagre 123 for eight in their must-win Champions league Twenty20 match here today.
Batting was not easy on the M A Chidambaram wicket as it did not allow much of a stroke-making. The spinners got help from the track and the Chennai pacemen made it all the more difficult for the Caribbeans by bowling a very tight line.
Opener William Perkins top scored for the T and T with his 28-ball 34 while Kevon Cooper (28) and Adrian Barath (23) also played useful knocks.
It was Cooper who helped his side go past the 100-run mark as he reeled off three sixes and a four in his 10 ball knock before getting out in the last ball of the innings.
Runs did not come freely for the Caribbean batsmen after deciding to bat as Bollinger (3/30) and Albie Morkel bowled tight, although the pacemen were punished when strayed.
