Amitabh Bachchan, who had turned down an honorary doctorate from an Australian university two years back as a mark of protest against racial attacks on Indian students, has finally decided to accept it. The Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane has offered the 69-year-old veteran his fourth doctorate for his contribution to the world of entertainment.
“The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) honors me with a Doctorate on the 20th of October in Brisbane... deep gratitude,” tweeted Bachchan from Sydney where he is shooting his first Hollywood film ‘The Great Gatsby’. “Yes after I finish the shoot for ‘The Great Gatsby’, over to Brisbane for the Honorary Doctorate from the Queensland University,” he added.
