Lucknow Girl Fakes Her Own Kidnapping, Held

In a clear sign of the times we live in, a girl named Priya in Lucknow faked her own kidnapping by plotting with her lover to demand a ransom of Rs 5 lakhs, but was caught because of the alertness of police.

Priya, a resident of Sharda Nagar, left her house on Monday for her aunt's home, but did not return till late in the night, police said.

Late that night a call went to her father saying Priya had been abducted. Prya's father approached Lucknow police, which kept a truck on the phone calls.
