Army Chief Calls For Iron Fist In Velvet Glove Policy In Kashmir

Asking troops to be extra vigilant from miscreants trying to malign army's image, Chief of Army staff (COAS) Gen V K Singh on Wednesday stressed on the policy of "iron fist in velvet glove".

"There is need for the policy of iron fist in velvet glove," Gen Singh said in his address to the troops on Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

"Though the terrorists have taken a severe beating in the region over the last few years and their morale is at the lowest ebb, yet they still retain the capability to calibrate the level of violence," he said.
