Rupee rises 5 paise against dollar in early trade

The rupee rose by 5 paise to 52.50 against the American currency at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market in early trade today as the American currency fell against Asian rivals.

Besides, a higher opening in the equity market on buying by funds further supported the rupee, dealers said.
