Liquor smugglers on Wednesday tried to crush a police sub-inspector H V Sisara with their vehicle, and later fled from the spot.
Gujarat police had mounted a campaign to stop rampant smuggling of liquor from neighbouring Daman into the state, where prohibition is in force.
