Dinesh Trivedi Resigns, Mukul Roy To Be New Railway Minister, Fare Hike to Be Rolled Back

In a fast-paced late night development,Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh within 10 hours of introducing his Rail Budget.

The Prime Minister, according to sources, has forwarded his resignation to the President for acceptance.

Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy will be the new Railway Minister, but he will be sworn in only after Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee places his Union Budget on Friday.
