Australia captain Michael Clarke hit a triple century before declaring the hosts' marathon first innings closed at 659-4 on day three of the second test against India.
Australia has a first-innings lead of 468 runs after equalling its highest ever total at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Clarke finished unbeaten on 329 and Mike Hussey on 150 not out in a record 334-run partnership against India.
