Congress Lacks Majority To Pass Lokpal Bill In Rajya Sabha

With the ignominy of its Constitutional Amendment Bill defeated in Lok Sabha on Tuesday night, the Congress is now a quandary : how to get the Lokpal Bill passed in the Raya Sabha with a simple majority.

The Congress has 71 members in the 243-member House, and unless its allies rally around the party,the Lokpal Bill may not have an easy passage.
