US President Barack Obama has nominated Indian-American Ajit Varadaraj Pai as Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission, the White House said.
Pai is a Partner in the Litigation Department of Jenner & Block LLP before which he worked in the Office of the General Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
In the Commission he had served as Deputy General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Special Adviser to the General Counsel and advised FCC Chairmen of both political parties and a number of current and former Commissioners. He worked with every agency bureau and office on a wide variety of rule makings, adjudications and administrative matters.
