Sixteen people were killed in a stampede that took place in Shanti Kunj Ashram here in course of the Gayatri Mahakumbh.
SDM Haridwar Arvinder Singh confirmed the death of 16 people in the stampede. The dead included 14 men and two women.
Nearly five lakh people had assembled at the Gayatri Mahakumbh in Shanti Kunj when the stampede took place.
