Lendl Simmons smashed 122 off 124 balls for his first century in international cricket to put West Indies in a strong position in the first ODI against Bangladesh on Thursday.
After being asked to bat first West Indies piled up 298-4 in 50 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Simmons struck eight fours and two sixes before being caught by Alok Kapali off medium-pacer Rubel Hossain in the 42nd over with West Indies on 217-1.
Kapali and Hossain were also responsible for the dismissal of Simmons’ partner Marlon Samuels, who plundered 71.
