Cong Ambivalent On Digvijay's Letter To Hazare

New Delhi, Oct 11: Congress today remained ambivalent on questions whether senior party leader Digvijay Singh’s open letter to Anna Hazare faulting the Gandhian for not raising his voice against the BJP constituted the official view of the party.

“Digvijay Singh is Congress general secretary, and he has written the letter in his wisdom. It will be better if (we react) only if there is a response and he makes it public,” party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters.

Singh has written the letter on his personal letterhead bearing his Bhopal address.

Tewari spoke in similar vein when asked whether the four-page letter in which Singh has cautioned Hazare against “lofty promises” by BJP of making him a Presidential candidate, was his personal view.
