A venomous snake belonging to the Chitgodia (local name) species was caught after six hours of strenuous efforts from the official Ambassador car of the Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) here on Thursday afternoon.
Policemen at the state police headquarters had a tough time locating the venomous snake inside the car, and they finally located it inside the bonnet.
A snake-charmer Tinkoo was called in, who managed to catch the snake. The snake is considered more venomous than the Indian Cobra, and the victim can die within five to ten minutes of the snakebite.
