Sensex Up 48 Points In Opening Trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by over 48 points in early trade today on sustained buying by funds amid firm global cues.

The 30-share BSE index, which gained 353.93 points in the previous trading session, rose by another 48.82 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 17,148.10 in the first five minutes of trade this morning.

All the sectoral indices were trading in the positive zone, barring the auto and refinery stock barometers, with gains of up to 0.56 per cent.
