Burglars at Baba Prakash Puri Ashram here on Monday night stole valuable gold and silver articles alongwith cash donations after cutting off the wires connecting cctv cameras.
It appears to be an insider's job, said ACP Rajesh Duggal. Dog Squad and fingerprint experts were called in to ferret out evidence.
The burglars stole a golden 'kalash' weighing two kilograms and a silver 'chhatra' weighin seven kilograms. They managed to shift a 100 kg weighing cash donation iron chest, but could not take it far. They used cutters to cut it open, and took away the cash donations.
On Tuesday morning, when the sevadars woke up, they found the locks broken, said Mahant Karnatak Puri Maharaj.
