There was full-scale drama at Makkad 'Super Speciality' Hospital in East Delhi's Shakarpur on Saturday night, when the mother and relatives of a newborn infant protested against medical negligence after the infant died.
Hemlata, a pharmacist working in GTB Hospital Shahdara, gave premature delivery to a boy in Suraksha Nursing Home in Dilshad Colony. The infant was critical and was brought to Makkad Hospital at around 4 pm on Saturday.
The owner of the hospital demanded Rs 50,000 from the family and assured that the infant would not die. However the infant died at night and the relatives staged protest.
