Customs Air Intelligence Unit officials had a pleasant shock on Thursday at the India Gandhi International Airport, when they caught hold of two men, residents of Mumbai, coming from Hong Kong with valuable imported watches.
One of them had swallowed four costly imported gold watches studded with diamonds and stones and was caught when the metal detector ‘pinged’ giving his game away.
The four imported watches valued at Rs 44 lakhs, duty included, were retrieved from the stomach of Mohammed Abdul Majid who had come from Hong Kong.
