Suhas Parab, an accountant working in a private company here, on Friday night strangled his wife Shilpa to death and then hanged himself from the ceiling in his apartment, police said.
Suhas left a suicide note saying they were taking their lives because of the stock market crash as he feared he would become unemployed and bankrupt. Suhas had invested a lot of money in the stock market, while his company too had invested a lot in stocks, said Arun Sonde, Senior Inspector, Kalwa police station.
The bodies were found in their apartment in Parijat Society in Kalwa, after neighbours informed the police about their apartment being locked from inside for a very long time.
