In a sudden move, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday morning visited several villages across the Ganga Expressway exhorting farmers to attend his Kisan Maha Panchayat scheduled to be held near Aligarh on July 9 .
Without intimating the local administration in advance, Rahul Gandhi along with Congress leaders first visited Bhatta Parsaul village, the epicentre of farmers agitation over land acquisition by UP government.
From Bhatta Parsaul, the Congress leader proceeded to Aaksyapur, Rustampur, Bhaipur, Kheda, Khaleda and Nander villages, where he met farmers and heard about their grievances over land acquisition.
