The Kanpur polie on Sunday arrested the Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki on charge of abusing and misbehaving with a lady IAS official.
The incident, police says, occured on Jun 16, when the MLA barged into the room of Ritu Maheshwari, managing director of KESCO which supplies power in the area and abused her for frequent power disruptions.
