He may be best known for his unforgettable comic roles in films, but actor Javed Jaffrey wants to do much more than just making people laugh.
The 47-year-old star whose role as an ambitious army lawyer in the 2008 film ‘Shaurya’ got him rave reviews, said that he would be happy if a directors offer him serious roles.
“I would love to break away from my comic image. But it all depends on the mindset of directors. I know I can do much more. And they should feel that I can do much more than just comic roles,” Jaffrey told PTI.
The actor who rose to prominence with his role of a ‘tapori’ in the film ‘Bombay Boys’, also said that till he gets such offers, he is happy to do what comes his way.
“But till then I would continue doing what is offered to me. For me it is important to mould myself as the director wants. Thats my challenge as an actor,” the actor said.
Jaffrey’s film ‘Double Dhamaal’, the sequel to the 2007 film ‘Dhamaal’ is all set to hit the theatres on June 24 and will premiere at the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in Toronto.
