Hip-hop star Missy Elliot has released a statement clarifying that while she does suffer from the autoimmune disorder Graves' disease, it didn’t cause her to press pause on her career.
Elliot revealed earlier that she was diagnosed with the disease, which affects the thyroid, in 2008, and saw it impact her motor skills and lead to hair loss, bulging eyes, a rapid heart rate and dizzy spells.
