Suspected criminals murdered four youths on a trivial issue in Kurar village in suburban Mumbai and dumped their bodies near a drain.
An irate mob blocked the Western Express Highway over the murders on Monday and police had to use force the lift the blockade.
The deceased were identified as Ganesh Karanje, Dinesh Ahire, Chetan Ghude and Bharat Chinchole.
The police, who have so far withheld the names of the accused, said that one of the deceased, Bharat Chinchole, who used to work as a water purifier technician, had
gone to claim pending payment of his work from one of the accused at Kurar village along with his friend Sachin Dhuri.
