Bhagwant Chikne, a resident of Bhatwadi in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, on Friday ran over his car on eight persons, while trying to learn to drive, police said.
Chikne had bought the Maruti Zen car a few days ago and was trying to learn to drive near his house.
On Friday night at around 9 pm, he lost control of the car, and the vehicle smashed into roadside shops hitting 8 persons.
