Recalled fast bowler Mark Gillespie took four wickets and wicketkeeper Kruger van Wyk held his fourth catch as New Zealand held South Africa to 133-6 at lunch on the second day of the second cricket test on Friday.
Playing only his fourth test and his first in four years, Gillespie captured all four wickets to fall in the morning, collaborating with the South Africa-born Van Wyk in the dismissals of Jacques Kallis (6) and Jacques Rudolph (1).
South Africa resumed at 27-2, struggling to capitalize on the first-day bowling performance of Dale Steyn and Vernon Philander, who provoked the collapse which saw New Zealand lose five wickets without a run being scored and its last eight wickets for 52 runs.
