The BSE benchmark index Sensex fell by nearly 52 points in early trade today, due to profit-booking by investors amid a mix Asian trend.
The 30-share barometer, which had gained 328 points in the previous two sessions, declined by 51.93 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 17,549.78, with metal, realty, capital goods and IT stocks leading the fall.
