The BSE benchmark Sensex extended gains for the second straight day by rising over 269 points in early trade today on buying by funds and retail investors, tracking a firming global trend.
The 30-share index, which had gained 285.37 points yesterday, rose further by 268.95 points, or 1.52 per cent, to trade above 18,000 points at 18,000.07.
