Sensex Fails To Maintain Initial Gains

The BSE benchmark Sensex was trading flat at 16,164.59 points at 1015 hours as initial gains were erased by profit-booking in capital goods, FMCG, healthcare and refinery stocks.

The 30-share Sensex resumed higher at 16,222.37 on the back of persistent buying in realty, metal, IT, consumer durable, banking and auto stocks, but subsequently declined to 16,145.19 amid profit-booking by operators before quoting at 16,164.59 at 1015 hours.
