After cricket, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has now stepped his foot in the world of motorsports by becoming a co-owner of the Mumbai franchise of the upcoming racing league, i1 Super Series.
Shah Rukh has become a joint owner of the Mumbai franchise along with his IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders’ partner, the Mehta Group.
Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement with the i1 Super Series, an initiative of Machdar Motorsports, is seen as a big boost for the championship that will commence in January next year.
The highly anticipated i1 Super Series, charted on the popular city based franchisee format, will have nine teams representing as many cities from across the country with each team having an Indian and an international driver per car.
