Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday accused Italy's Parmalat of "monopolizing" milk supplies and threatened it with expropriation after 210 tons of powdered milk were found in a warehouse.
The threat came less than a week after Venezuela introduced a new law governing goods and services that put into place a system of blanket price controls to combat soaring inflation.
