New Delhi, Sep 2: Charging the Centre with meting out step-motherly treatment to “opposition state governments”, BJP today feared if this continued for long it would not augur well for democracy in the country.
Speaking at a discussion on “Appointment of Lokayukta in Gujarat - an attack on the Federal structure”, BJP President Nitin Gadkari said the way the opposition parties’ governments in the country were treated by the Centre was not good.
“There is violation of the Constitution...there is violation of the federal system...The way opposition governments are treated, where will democracy remain? All is not well in the country,” the BJP chief said.
