Javed, the nephew of a local councillor Ibrahim Malik, was found hanging from the ceiling at the house of a lady Shabia Jamaal in Shalimar Garden area here on Sunday, police said.
Shabia says, she had married Javed, but Javed's family denies any wedding to have taken place.
Though prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Javed's family has alleged that he was killed. Police has taken Shabia, her son and brother-in-law into custody for interrogation.
