Five pilgrims were killed on the spot while ten others were injured in an accident that took place near Tribune Chowk in Sector – 28 here on Saturday night, police said.
The incident took place around 10:30 PM when a group of pilgrims was crushed by a speeding bus of Chandigarh Group of College. The pilgrims were going to Nada Sahib Gurudwara.
According to eye-witnesses the bus first hit a couple going on an Activa scooty near Tribune Chowk after which driver lost control over the steering and crushed more than a dozen of pilgrims.
All of them were rushed to the hospital.
